It may be a little early to be shopping for Christmas, but Desk Pets has released its CarBot which allows users to fully control the toy car with an Apple iOS device, or an Android-powered device.

And while this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a remote-controlled car that offers smartphone control, CarBot comes with four interactive modes that makes the cars fun for everyone: Drift ‘n’ Race, Battle, Maze, and Personality. For the multiplayer battle mode, users can assign themselves one of four colors (red, blue, orange, and green) and can not only zip around, but can fire at opposing CarBots to disable them.

The Maze mode gives users a challenge of navigating their CarBot through a maze while avoiding obstacles. The Drift ‘n’ Race mode acts exactly how it sounds, while the Personality mode makes the CarBot go while, spinning with lights and sounds. And just in case you’re worried it’ll be one of those obnoxious toys, the CarBot can be muted.

Each CarBot comes with an iDesk Pets universal remote dongle that can be plugged into the headphone jack of your mobile device. Priced at $29.99, it’s not too shabby of a toy.
